Buckham Gallery’s exhibition, Disrupted Realism is a nationally juried show conceived from John Seed’s book Disrupted Realism. Disrupted Realism refers to contemporary painting that challenges the traditional concepts of realism. Anne Harris, who is featured in Seed’s book, will also be featured in Buckham Gallery’s exhibition.
After evaluating 697 high-quality submissions from 184 artists, juror John Seed labored over the task of selecting only 34 paintings. “Uncomfortable Café” is among the selected work. Prizes will be selected by John Seed and announced during the opening. John Seed is an art writer, art and art history professor, and an artist in his own right who has held many roles in the art world including assistant to Jean Michel Basquiat.
